JOY Global Inc. Assists China Earthquake Recovery With Financial Donation To Build New School

Joy Global Inc. (NASDAQ: JOYG), a worldwide leader in high-productivity mining solutions, today announced that it has made a financial donation to the Red Cross Society of China in the amount of one million RMB (Renminbi) – or roughly $150,000 – following last month’s major earthquake in southwestern China's Sichuan Province.

Joy South Africa Sponsors HIV / AIDS and TB Clinic

At a ceremony held earlier this summer, Joy South Africa contributed R486,077 ($62,680 USD) to Alberton Methodist Care & Relief Enterprise (AMCARE). The donation will go towards the building of a comprehensive HIV / AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic on its Alberton premises that will serve a population of over 1.5 million people in the area.

As part of Joy South Africa’s socio economic development initiative to provide sustainable learning support for disadvantaged schools, a contribution of approximately R504,680 ($62,680 USD) was recently made to the Jabulani Technical High School in Soweto, near Johannesburg.
