Continental is the largest UK manufacturer of belt conveyor systems and belt conveyor components. The Company is based in Sunderland in the North East of England where it operates from a 200,000 sq ft (18,581mē) factory.
The Company was formed in 1998 and incorporates the Huwood, MECO and FSW Conveyor brands. For more than 90 years the business has been designing and manufacturing bulk material handling equipment for the mining, quarrying and aggregate industries through the world.
In 2005 Continental had 45% of sales exported mainly to other European countries. The Company currently employes 200 people.
